Founded in 1999, Two Mountains began as a unique entrepreneurial company manufacturing coffins, driven not just by profit, but by a heartfelt commitment to serve South African communities through value and dignified funeral services. From these humble beginnings in Phalaborwa, the company grew by identifying new ways to serve families, becoming a trusted name across South Africa.
OUR MISSION
To be the trusted funeral service provider and insurer – rooted in community, driven by resilience, and delivering simple, affordable value for all.

Today, we proudly operate from over 90 locations across five provinces – Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape.
With our new micro-insurance license, acquired in 2021, Two Mountains can now offer families even more ways to receive support, care and peace of mind.

In 2023, Two Mountains proudly became a member of the Old Mutual group, strengthening our ability to honour the promise at the heart of everything we do: how our family serves yours when it matters most. This new chapter combines our local expertise and community focus with the financial reliability of a group trusted by millions of South Africans.
With Old Mutual behind us, we can guarantee a level of service excellence, transparency and support that turns our promises into reality, every step of the way.

At Two Mountains, Our Family Serving Yours means more than caring for our clients it means standing alongside the communities we call home.
Two Mountains recently engaged the community of Malamulele. The engagement included meaningful discussions with the local Chief, Indunas, cabinet members, and graveyard controllers on their concerns and offering guidance on our Two Mountains packages.
Two Mountains recently engaged the community of Chavani and looked to assist not just those that are there but those that chose it as a final resting place. We had a meaningful engagement day with the Chief/Induna, cabinet members, and community members, discussing their concerns and offering guidance on our flexible packages.
On the 26th of May 2024, Two Mountains proudly visited the Kgapane Tribal Authority to engage in a meaningful Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiative. This visit was marked by the donation of essential items to support the local community, including cemetery signage for Medigen Cemetery, working tools, and jackets.
This September Two Mountains has been visiting cemeteries around the communities we serve to assist in clean up efforts of the graveyards. Through the Two Mountains Cares initiative branches of the company have identified the needs of the cemetery and engaged members of the community to find out what we can do to give dignity to each and every funeral service. Our program and theme for the month of September is going back to our roots as a quality funeral service provider. We have thus far completed the donation of tools to workers and signboards to: Malomanye, Kgapane, Medingen, Marubane, Happy Dam, Jerusalem and many more cemeteries around the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces. With the support of traditional councils and community leaders we are able to make a difference. In the coming weeks we will be completing our journey through Limpopo, going back KZN and Eastern Cape to support the community and give all our past loved ones a dignified resting place.
Two Mountains spread joy past Mandela Day this year by supporting worthy initiatives during the month of August in different parts of the country. This Women’s month Two Mountains took the time to celebrate the crowning of Miss South Africa 2022 by joining her homecoming celebration in the Village of Gavaza and contributed to the Umlalazi War Room Women Cooperative. These are some of the charitable acts Two Mountains has contributed to for the month of August.
