Purpose of the job

The Facilitator is responsible for delivering engaging, accurate, and impactful learning experiences to employees, field teams and branch staff. The role requires excellent presentation skills, strong subject matter understanding of the micro-insurance sector, and the ability to use multiple learning delivery methods. The Facilitator will ensure that learning interventions improve operational performance, customer service, compliance, and sales capabilities across the business.

Key Outputs

Delivery of Training

  • Facilitate training across various modalities:
    • Face-to-Face (classroom)
    • Virtual instructor-led training (Teams/Zoom)
    • Blended learning
    • On-the-job coaching
  • Deliver soft skills, sales training, customer service, product knowledge, system training, and compliance programmes.
  • Facilitate induction training for new staff.
  • Engage learners using interactive strategies to ensure high participation and knowledge retention.

Training Content Knowledge & Mastery

  • Maintain strong understanding of Two Mountains products, processes, client experience standards, and industry regulations (e.g., FAIS, TCF, POPIA).
  • Keep up to date with micro-insurance trends, policies, and legislative changes.
  • Adapt facilitation style to suit audience needs (from field agents to managers).
  • Provide operational insights to L&D based on learner performance and challenges observed.

Learning Technology & Digital Competency

  • Use digital tools effectively during facilitation (LMS, Teams, Zoom, YouTube, interactive tools, polls).
  • Support learners navigating eLearning modules and ensure they understand LMS requirements.
  • Demonstrate basic understanding of eLearning and SCORM concepts (not development, but user navigation and troubleshooting).
  • Use digital assessments, surveys, and online resources during training.

Administration & Reporting

  • Manage attendance registers, assessments, and training evaluations.
  • Capture training records accurately for compliance.
  • Provide feedback reports, training summaries, and learner progress updates to L&D.
  • Track completion of mandatory trainings and follow up with learners where necessary.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply facilitation best practice and adult learning principles.
  • Provide recommendations for course improvements based on classroom experience.
  • Participate in content reviews and pilot sessions of new training programmes.
  • Ensure that all training delivered aligns with L&D standards and Two Mountains values.

Stakeholder Engagement & Support

  • Represent L&D professionally during branch visits and partner sessions.
  • Engage with Branch Managers, Regional Heads, HC, and Operations teams to identify training needs.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching and support to learners struggling with content or practical application.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant qualifications in Training & Development, HR, Education, or related field.
  • SETA-accredited Facilitation Certificate (e.g., Train-the-Trainer or Assessor/Moderator advantageous).
  • 2–5 years’ experience delivering training in insurance, financial services, retail, contact centre, or related sectors.
  • Experience delivering soft skills, customer service, sales, and compliance training.
  • Experience training dispersed teams or field agents is advantageous.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong facilitation & presentation skills (physical and virtual).
  • Knowledge of micro-insurance and funeral policy products.
  • Understanding of compliance topics:
    • FAIS
    • TCF
    • POPIA
    • FICA (advantageous)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Comfortable using LMS platforms and facilitating with digital content.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for virtual training tools (audio, video, connectivity).

  • Multilingual – ability to facilitate in at least two or more South African languages (preferably: English, IsiZulu, Sepedi, Xitsonga, or Setswana).
