Purpose of the job
This role is responsible for delivery of the financial accounting and reporting in the organisation through management of self. Responsible for the timely preparation of accurate and complete financial accounts and maintenance of financial records over periods of 3 months to 1 year.
Key Results Areas
•Preparation of accurate and complete financial accounting records for responsible areas.
•Preparation of timely, accurate and complete monthly reporting submissions including key metrics.
•Ensure compliance with tax, legislative & statutory requirements from a Finance perspective.
•Assistance with audit queries.
•Balance sheet management.
•Provide support to Financial Accountant where needed.
Key Outputs
•Delivery of accurate financial results within stipulated timelines for all areas of reporting (payroll, fixed assets, etc.).
•Contribution to successful completion of the Annual Financial Statements by the statutory deadlines.
•Provision of inputs into the business planning/ budgeting and forecasting process according to organisation’s goals.
•Preparation of tax calculations and submissions for review to ensure compliance with SARS.
•Preparation of VAT and EMP SARS submissions for review.
•Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review.
•Ensure accuracy of cashbook and treasury related entries.
•Review of supplier reconciliations in accordance with SOPs.
•Perform variance and cost analysis.
•Preparation of adhoc financial reports or inputs into the process.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
• Relevant finance degree
•1-2 years’ working experience in a similar role
