Purpose of the job
The Payment clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of outgoing payments, maintaining financial records, and supporting internal financial controls. This role plays a critical part in managing the organization’s financial obligations to vendors, service providers, and stakeholders.
Key Results Areas
- On-time and error-free payment processing
- Regular and accurate reconciliation of accounts
- Adherence to internal controls and financial processes
- Efficient handling of vendor queries and issues
Key Outputs
- Invoices and payments processed on time
- Reconciled accounts with minimal discrepancies
- Vendor issues resolved efficiently
- Only approved source documents are processed for payment
Customer Services
- Handle all incoming and outgoing calls professionally.
- Address customer questions, complaints, and provide information on policies.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external clients
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12
- N6 Finance and or accounting related qualification
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in payment, accounts payable, or finance
