Purpose of the Job

The regional fleet controller is responsible for coordinating, overseeing and monitoring the optimization of the fleet in the designated region. This role requires efficiency, maintenance management, compliance and safety and ensuring the fleet meets the businesses requirements in the region.

Key Outputs

  • Fleet Monitoring
    • Track and analyse fleet utilisation to ensure efficiency.
    • Track and communicate vehicle positioning to the Group Asset Manager and the Client.
    • Ensure correct allocation and verification of vehicles to Drivers.
    • Maintain constant communication with Drivers and Regional Fleet Co-ordinators / Fleet operations Manage.
    • Report on car-track events that are in violation with the fleet policy and SOP.
  • Driver Monitoring:
    • Monitor Driver behaviour through designated system and report over speeding, reckless driving, harsh breaking etc.
    • Assist with investigations pertaining to identification of locations and drivers, accidents and complaints.
  • Reporting
    • Report unauthorised movement of vehicle to the Regional Fleet Controller and/or Fleet operations Manager.
    • Reporting on regional fleet fuel usage, budgeting and allocating accordingly.
    • Reporting any breakdowns, Accident and damages to company assets to the Fleet operations Manager.
    • Report on all maintenance requirements and keep record of all transactions.
    • Provide weekly reports on vehicles to managers on fleet performance and risk factors that may affect the fleet.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Business Management or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years previous experience in a Fleet management environment and understands the burial business operations.
  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle tracking systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding in vehicle safety and compliance.

Technical Competencies

  • Ability to travel extensively and work overtime if required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, word, power-point, outlook)
  • Systems and data analytic capabilities
  • Background in vehicle telematics systems
